Well Together Challenge: The End
It has been a fun month working with Nancy from FitMamaEats and Harvard Pilgrim Healthcare on this Well Together Challenge.
I took Nancy's challenge of working on some Zumba routines to a whole new level by including my children! I was very happy when I signed on to this project to get the December assignment. I (and I do believe, most people) am notorious for finding excuses not to work out when the holiday season hits... "I have cooking to do. I have shopping to do. I have gifts to wrap. I need to clean my house for guests. I have a cookie swap to attend..."... etc, etc., etc...
So working with Nancy and feeling accountable to complete a project really kept me motivated. And come on, this is the time of the year where we need to work the hardest at staying fit and healthy. So many temptations, so many treats, so very many yummy distractions. At work, at parties, at friends houses...
So this partnership with Nancy helped me stay on track. It was fun to try something new. That's important. You need to try new things on your path to wellness. You can't just go run on a treadmill and decide that you hate working out. Your path may include fun exercise like Zumba; it may include solitary exercise like hiking. You could fall in love with circuit training... or yoga... or hula hooping...
But you never know until you try. There are just so many different ways to stay active, to stay healthy and fit... find yours.
On another note, I also tried another of Nancy's recipes and I loved it! She has a recipe for Pancake Truffles that looked like a great alternative to the same boring pancakes I am forced to make my girls at least 2-3 times per week... and they were a hit! (Thankfully!)
They took me no time to make and I really enjoyed them. The surprise of the gooey banana inside and the treat of the crunchy almonds outside were just the right mix. Of course, the girls sopped on the syrup just like they do their regular pancakes, but all 3 still enjoyed them and I will definitely be making them again.
And so that is it. The end. This completes my journey with Harvard Pilgrim Healthcare and FitMamaEats. I have certainly enjoyed it, learned a thing or two and hopefully teaching Nancy something about hoopin for fun (and exercise!)
I’ve partnered with Harvard Pilgrim on this sponsored post but the thoughts and opinions expressed are my own. You can find more ways to be well at HarvardPilgrim.org/CountUsIn.
